Carnival Cruise Ships Still Waiting To Resume Operations

Carnival Cruise Line to resume some sailing in August, statement says

Eleven Carnival Cruise ships have resumed operations with a further 13 waiting to bring back the fun across nine different homeports.

Carnivals gradual restart operations have been ongoing since Carnival Vista sailed in July of this year. Since then, the cruise line has been starting up ships regularly. From September 19, the Miami-based cruise line had eleven cruise ships operating, departing from no less than six different homeports.

The cruise line will be satisfied with how the restart of operations has gone so far. However, that doesnt mean theyre done. There are thirteen more ships to restart operations but its also important to note that Carnival Miracle already resumed from Seattle but will also begin sailings from Long Beach on September 27. Carnival Pride has also already resumed from Baltimore but will also resume from Tampa on November 14.

NEW ORLEANS Carnival Glory is set to depart on a seven-day cruise from the Port of New Orleans this afternoon marking the first sailing from the city since the industry-wide pause in operations 18 months ago.

Carnival Glorys voyage from the Erato Street Cruise Terminal includes visits to three popular Bahamian destinations: Bimini, Freeport and Nassau.

To commemorate the occasion, a Back to Fun event was held in the terminal during which Carnivals Vice President of Guest Operations Sarah Beth Reno, Carnival Glory Captain Nicola Iaccarino and Port of New Orleans President and CEO Brandy D. Christian cut the ceremonial ribbon and officially welcomed the first guests on board.

Carnival Cruise Line is however planning to resume more of its guest operations and ship restarts in some U.S. ports as part of a phased-in approach, the company said in a news release.

We are very pleased with the progress of our restart which will grow to 15 ships sailing from seven U.S. homeports by mid-November, said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, in a statement. We are making slight adjustments to our timeline to take into account supply chain realities and ensure that our destination and shore excursion offerings can meet the strong demand we are seeing from our guests. Our teams, ship and shore, are prepared to continue delivering on our great guest experience and manage all health and safety protocols.

SC Ports does not currently have a confirmed date for when the Carnival Sunshine will resume operations in Charleston. SC Ports also does not currently have a confirmed date for when Port of Calls will resume operations in Charleston.

Carnival Cancels All Cruises Through April

In todays announcement, Carnival has canceled ALL cruises that were scheduled to depart through and including April 30, 2021. They also leave room for additional cancellations due to more ships leaving the fleet, redeployments, government restrictions and changes to dry dock schedules.

Carnival Cruise Line recently sent three ships into dry dock. These include Carnival Magic with cruises canceled through September 24, 2021, Carnival Paradise canceled through May 31 and Carnival Valor through Sept 11, 2021.

Among the canceled cruises are those hoped-for early departures from Miami, Port Canaveral and Galveston. Carnival has also canceled the inaugural sailing of .

The Restart Is Underway

The restart of cruise operations is underway by multiple cruise lines already and more will begin resuming through the remainder of 2021. The two largest cruise lines for Carnival Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean have already restarted with a limited number of ships from the US as the situation theres is moving forward quickly.

The Celebrity Edge cruise ship owned by Royal Caribbean group became the first to restart operations with regular passengers from the US which departed on June 26 out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Freedom of the Seas, operated by Royal Caribbean International, was the first cruise ship to be approved for a test sailing at the end of June. That was then followed by the vessel resuming out of Miami, Florida on July 2, 2021.

When it comes to Carnival Cruise Line, as of July 21, a total of three ships have already restarted sailings. Carnival Vista was the first to resume in the fleet when she departed Galveston, Texas on July 3, 2021. Carnival Horizon was then the second in the fleet to resume when the ship departed out of Miami, Florida on July 4, 2021. Carnival Breeze was then the third in the fleet and resume from the Port of Galveston on July 15.

In Canada, the situation has just recently made a major step forward towards reopening for cruise ships. On July 15, the government announced that from that have a capacity of over 100. As long as cruise lines follow the health protocols, then they will be able to resume from that date.

With Two Carnival Cruise Ships Back In Service Here Are The Next Three That Will Resume Cruises

Carnival Cruise Line celebrated the return of cruises from their hometown Miami today when passengers boarded Carnival Horizon for the first time since March 2020.

Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy, Carnival Corporation President and CEO Arnold Donald, and Carnival Brand Ambassador John Heald kicked off the festivities with a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially welcoming guests on board.

Carnival Horizon is the second Carnival cruise ship to resume cruises. Carnival Vista became the first yesterday when the ship sailed from Galveston for the Caribbean. Now that Carnival Cruise Line has two cruise ships back in service, here are the next three that will resume cruises later this month.

Carnival Miracle will kick off the cruise lines Alaska season and will begin sailing from Seattle on July 27. The week long cruises will visit Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Tracey Arm Fjord.

Carnival Cruise Line Cancellations

A date for when Carnival will resume cruising from U.S. ports has not yet been determined. Earlier this month, the cruise line began to provide more flexible options for those who were booked into early summer. Guests booked can cancel their reservation without penalty simply if they needed or just wanted to make different plans.

For anyone booked on cruises in todays new cruise cancellations extension, Carnival gives guests the choice of a future cruise credit plus onboard credit package, or a full refund.

MIAMI plc , the world’s largest cruise company, have announced plans to resume guest cruise operations, with AIDA Cruises Europe .

The brands are resuming operations using a gradual, phased-in approach, with sailings announced on 42 ships to date through the end of fiscal year 2021 , representing 52% of the company’s total capacity across its global fleet of 91 cruise ships. The initial cruises will take place with enhanced health protocols developed in conjunction with government and health authorities, and informed by guidance from the company’s public health, epidemiological and policy experts.

Carnival Corporation’s most recent brand restart announcements are summarized directly below, with a full list of initial restart plans by brand, ship and expected start date available further below. Additional brand updates on the resumption of guest cruise operations for the remainder of fiscal year 2021 will be announced as further restart plans are finalized.

When Will The Rest Of The Fleet Sail

Carnivals restart of operations has been a gradual one. The cruise line making sure that operations are running well, ships can be adequately crewed, and there are no issues. The Miami-based company made clear it did not expect all of the US-based ships to be sailing by the end of the year.

For now, seven ships will be returning in 2022. These include Carnival Liberty out of Port Canaveral, Carnival Sunshine from Charleston, Carnival Paradise from Tampa, Carnival Ecstasy out of Jacksonville, and Carnival Sensation out of Mobile.

Carnival Splendor and Carnival Spirit, based in Australia, are on hold until December 16 due to the cruise ban in place in Australia.

Carnival Cruise Line To Bring Back More Ships In September And October

Carnival Cruise Line announced today that three more ships will resume guest operations in September, and another four in October, which brings the total number of ships in operation for the Carnival Cruise Line fleet to 15

Carnival said in a press release will continue to operate all its ships as vaccinated cruises through at least October.

The three ships for September are the Carnival Glory from New Orleans, starting Sept. 5, the Carnival Pride from Baltimore, starting Sept. 12, and the Carnival Dream from Galveston, starting Sept. 19.

In October, the four additional ships to restart will be the Carnival Conquest from Miami, effective Oct. 8, the Carnival Freedom from Miami, effective Oct. 9, the Carnival Elation from Port Canaveral, effective Oct. 11, and the Carnival Sensation from Mobile, effective Oct. 21.

“We are very excited about our restart and greatly appreciate the support of our guests, travel agents and port and destination partners,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “By the end of July, we will have five ships in our restart plan, including the introduction of service on Mardi Gras, and we are seeing a great combination of strong demand and strong guest satisfaction scores tied to the positive guest experience on board.”

Cruises on the Carnival Sunshine from Charleston, the Carnival Ecstasy from Jacksonville and the Carnival Liberty from Port Canaveral will be cancelled through Oct. 31.

Carnival Cruise Line To Resume Sailings From Mobile On October 21

For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic shut down the cruise industry in March, a cruise ship will sail out of Mobile with passengers on board.

But there is a catch for those cruises who are unvaccinated: You will pay $150 to be tested before and after the cruises. Also, on board youth programs will only be available to vaccinated children and youth ages 12 and older.

The Carnival Sensation, one of the Miami-based companys four upgraded Fantasy-class ships, will resume operations on October 21 from the Alabama Cruise Terminal in downtown Mobile. The cruise ships initial voyage will mark the first time one of the companys vessels has left Mobile with passengers on board since in early March 2020, during the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

It will also mark the first time the Carnival Sensation was in Mobile since mid-May, when the cruise ship arrived to vaccinate the crew members who were on board.

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson, in a statement, said the city and Carnival Cruise Line have been in communication so that were ready to meet their needs as a home port city when cruising starts in October.

When the dust finally settles, Carnival will have three ships departing from the port of Long Beach. This includes Carnival Panorama sailing seven-day Mexican Riviera itineraries and Carnival Radiance operating three- and four-day itineraries year-round. When Will Carnival Lines Return To Service In The Usa

None of Carnival’s lines will sail until at least early October because all have extended their North American suspensions through the end of September, Frizzell said Thursday. That’s two weeks longer than members of the trade group Cruise Lines International Association agreed to remain idle and nearly two months beyond the expiration of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “no-sail order,” which is scheduled for July 24.

Frizzell said the extended suspension has given Carnival extra time to finalize plans for health protocols and ship-capacity levels when it resumes operations.When its lines resume cruising, they are likely to take a phased approach, returning to sailing over time rather than all at once.

Carnival Cruise Line to resume cruises August 1st

The first Carnival Cruise Line to start up cruises from Charleston, North Carolina, Carnival Sunshine sets sail once again on January 13 when she cruises the Bahamas. Carnival Sunshine looks like an excellent option for guests looking for a more extended cruise onboard a Carnival ship in the new year.

The ship will be sailing a 10-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on January 17, calling in St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Kitts, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Carnival Legend From Baltimore

One more of the Carnival ships that received her new look already. Guests in Baltimore can look forward to sailing onboard Carnival Legend from November 14, 2021. By this time, Carnival Legend will take over the itinerary that Carnival Pride is currently sailing on.

The 88,500 gross tons ship will be sailing on an itinerary to Bermuda, where guests can enjoy three full days at The Dockyard . However, most of Carnival Legends cruises will be sailing to the Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean. This includes 6-7-8- and 14-day cruises.

Carnival Conquest From Miami

The first in class, the 110,000 gross ton Carnival Conquest has been sailing the seven seas since 2002. Since then, she has received multiple updates and upgrades which guests can enjoy once again starting December 13, 2021. The vessel was initially scheduled to start operations on October 8, but the cruise line decided to delay this slightly.

Her first cruise back in action will see Carnival Conquest sailing from PortMiami to Cozumel and Key West. Guests can choose from a wide variety of 3- and 4-day cruises to the Bahamas, Eastern Caribbean, and the Western Caribbean this year and next year.
