What Are The Benefits Of Posting A Job On Indeed Vs Another Job Board Via Social Media Or In The Local Newspaper

How to Search for Resumes on Indeed | Indeed US

If you arent convinced about posting a job on Indeed, here are three reasons to consider it.

1. Indeed Lets You Message Job Seekers

Maybe you arent getting enough applicants to your job posting or want more control over finding good candidates. Indeed allows you to source your own candidates that match your job description. This may be more affordable than contacting them using social media tools like LinkedIn InMail or LinkedIn Recruiter. To learn more, read how to search resumes on Indeed.

2. You Will Get Applicants

This may seem simple but, for even the most complex roles, Indeed always delivers at least a few applicants. In fact, 65% of all jobs are filled through Indeed . Since the process to post a job on Indeed takes about only about two to three minutes if you already have a job description ready, its worth your time.

Indeed delivers more hires than other job sites.

3. You Can See the Resumes of Applicants on Your Own Terms

Indeed gives you nice flexibility when hiring. For instance, even if youre not logged in, you can view applicant resumes via email alerts. Indeed attaches the full resume of an applicant to the email alert you receive. You can also log into Indeed and go through and organize candidates systematically. Its like having your own applicant tracking system as you can see below.

How To Make Your Job Search Suck A Little Less

  • Make sure your résumé, cover letter, and application match the job description. To some extent, that means using the same phrasing, even if that can feel a little cheap. As Harvard management professor Joseph Fuller put it, Being robotic is good if youre talking to a robot.
  • Scan LinkedIn to see what skills and certifications people in the job you want have. Make sure you list them if you have them, or acquire them if you dont. Dont waste your time by applying for a job youre unlikely to get.
  • Dont leave unexplained gaps. If you took a year off to write the Great American Novel, say so. Otherwise, it will look like you were doing nothing at all, and you might be screened out.

Arlethia Washington, who worked as a legal secretary in New York for 40 years, took an exit package from her job early in the pandemic and, given her experience, assumed shed be able to easily find a new position after things reopened. Instead, she found herself in a maze: It was hard to tell if recruiters who reached out about jobs were serious. For a lot of positions, she just didnt hear back, or somewhere in the process, shed be screened out.

A lot of reasons that job searches fail is people want to go from unemployment to the next job they would have had if they kept their old job, Fuller said. You know, Im going to not only get a new position, but Im going to get promoted to boot.

Case #: The Auditteam

File:Audit.jpg – Wikimedia Commonscommons.wikimedia.org

The audit process is one of those dreaded moments where your ability to pass will not depend solely on your good record keeping.

The level or degree of the audit process will be adapted to the situation at hand, the organization’s previous audit history and reputation, as well as perceptions during the audit.

When preparing for internal and external audits, it is very important to understand the full scope of the audits so that those to be audited are adequately prepared.

Example: Interacting with the Auditors Can Be Quite Tricky and I Recommend:

  • to stick to the questions being asked
  • to avoid introducing extraneous information that you may feel will win the auditors over
  • to be professional and not over or under engaged

The audit process can be compared to the quality function in that it can cover large quantities of procedures and information, all of which can be subjected to interpretation or levels of “completion.”

When compliance audits are conducted, you may think that these would be more straightforward, but that is not always the case either.

For this reason, it would not be advisable to challenge the auditors as this may only aggravate the situation.

You may be right about certain aspects of the audit, yet perceived over confidence or wanting to be right may lead the auditors to dig further in areas so be careful what you wish for!

This Story Is Part Of A Group Of Stories Called

Uncovering and explaining how our digital world is changing and changing us.

Patrick Healy says he did everything right in his job search. After being laid off as a designer early on in the pandemic, Healy, 36, tried his hand at a couple of entrepreneurial ventures before looking for a new full-time position at the start of 2021. He estimates he applied for hundreds of positions, relying on nearly a dozen jobs boards, researching potential employers, and writing personalized cover letters to accompany his résumé.

For the most part, he heard nothing back, regardless of how qualified he was.

You get no feedback. I was still trying to experiment with what I was doing, but I just had no idea what was happening, why I wasnt moving forward, Healy said. That was both stressful financially and heartbreaking psychologically.

It took nearly six months for Healy, who has a decade of experience in industrial design, to find a new job. Meanwhile, headlines touted a record number of job openings, and many employers said they were doing everything in their power to entice potential employees.

Let It Roll Off Of You

We will spend a lifetime running into people that are demanding, critical, and downright volatile. You need to learn the skill of blowing most of it off. Certainly, there will be some of it that will still bother you, but most of the time you can’t let it affect you. I’m not suggesting ignoring your boss’s needs or demands I’m saying to not let their method of delivery be what grabs your attention or reaction. I have found that even the most difficult of bosses can be tamed or at least subdued.

I once worked for a guy who had even the most senior, sage people in tears. When I started working directly for him, I noticed he was quick to engage in verbal battle. If you stood up for yourself, he backed down. I soon figured out that he tested people. If they backed down, he was relentless. When I told him my observation, he laughed and told me I was the only person who had figured it out. He felt that if you were right about something, you would defend it and if you didn’t defend it, he couldn’t respect you. It was that simple. It was who he wasgood or bad, but we always worked well togetherand that’s the most important part.

If you’re dealing with a bad boss, be sure to follow these six tips. When you feel like quitting, just remember you can turn a bad situation around, but it does take work.

Is My Information Safe

Most sites will allow you to choose whether you want your resume to be public. If you don’t want your resume to be viewed by just anyone, do your research to see exactly who will be able to access it.

Most sites will block out your street address along with your email and phone number which will be visible only to employers you apply or respond to.

Let’s go into more detail about uploading your resume to Indeed.

Once you upload your resume to Indeed, you will have the option of making your resume either public or private.

Remember that if you do make your resume private, it won’t be visible to potential employers. Unless you don’t want anyone to know you’re searching for a job, we suggest making it public so hiring managers could reach out to you. Also remember that your information are not shared publicly.

You shouldn’t even be including your full address on a resume in the USA–only your city, state, and zip code.
