Haryana’s Home Secretary Rajeev Arora said the order is issued to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order in the districts.

The order comes into force immediately and will remain in effect till 5 pm of January 27, he said.

He said the order covers internet services , all SMS services and “all dongle services etc provided on mobile networks except voice calls in territorial jurisdiction of district Sonipat, Palwal and Jhajjar of State”.

He asked all telecom service providers in including the Head of BSNL to ensure compliance.

“This order is being passed ex-parte in view of the emergent situationAny person found guilty of violation of this order will be liable for legal action under relevant provisions,” as per the order.

The order was issued in view of the potential law and order situation on account of events which unfolded during the farmers’ tractor parade in the capital.

The three Haryana districts lie adjoining the capital.

Farmers protesting against the Centre’s new farm laws have been sitting in protest for two months at Delhi’s various border points including Sonipat, Jhajjar and Palwal districts.

Chandigarh , January 29 : The Haryana government on Friday suspended all mobile internet, SMS, and dongle services in another 14 districts till 5 pm on January 30.The government also extended the suspension in Sonipat, Palwal, and Jhajjar till 5 pm on January 30. The voice calls, however, are exempted as earlier from the suspension.

The districts under the fresh suspension order include Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Rewari, and Sirsa.The government spokesperson said that the State Government has decided to impose this suspension of internet services in order to stop the spread of disinformation and rumours through various social media platforms, such as WhatsApp, Facebook Twitter on mobile phones and SMS, for facilitation and mobilization of mobs of agitators and demonstrators who can cause serious loss of life and damage to public and private properties by indulging in arson or vandalism and other types of violent activities.The suspension came after violence took place in the national capital during farmers’ tractor rally on Republic Day.

The Haryana government on Wednesday extended the suspension of mobile internet services in Sonipat, Jhajjar and Palwal districts till 5 pm on January 28 “to prevent disturbance of peace and public order,”;an official statement said.

The mobile internet services were suspended in these districts on Tuesday as a violent farmers’ protest rocked neighbouring Delhi.

“The Haryana Government has extended the suspension of telecom services , all SMS services and all dongle services, etc. provided on mobile networks except the voice calls in the territorial jurisdiction of districts of Sonipat, Palwal and Jhajjar for next 24 hours till 5 pm on January 28,” the statement said.

“This order has been issued to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order in the jurisdiction of these three districts of Haryana and shall be in force with immediate effect,” it said.

In view of the violence in Delhi, Haryana Home Secretary Rajeev Arora had on Tuesday issued the order to snap mobile internet services in the three districts, which are in close proximity of Delhi, to “stop the spread of disinformation and rumours through various social media platforms, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter” for mobilisation of antisocial elements who can disturb peace, cause loss of life and damage to property.

Thirty police vehicles and 428 barricades were damaged in the violence, the police said.

Mobile Internet Suspension Now Extended Only In Seven Haryana Districts

The Haryana government on Monday further extended the suspension of mobile internet services till 5 pm on February 2 in seven districts of the state to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order amid protests by farmers against three new farm laws that witnessed violence earlier this week.;;

According to an official statement issued here, the Haryana government has extended the suspension of mobile internet services , SMS services and all dongle services etc. provided on mobile networks except voice calls in seven districts — Kaithal, Panipat, Jind, Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri, Sonipat and Jhajjar till 5 pm on February 2.

This order is issued to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order in the jurisdiction of these districts of Haryana and shall be in force with immediate effect. Any person who will be found guilty of violation of aforesaid order will be liable for legal action under relevant provisions, it said.;;;;;;

The suspension of mobile internet has not been extended in Ambala, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Kurukshetra, Karnal and Hisar, where it was suspended until 5 pm February 1.

On Sunday, the government had also not extended suspension of mobile internet in Yamunanagar, Palwal and Rewari districts, where the mobile internet services were suspended until 5 pm of January 31.

Khattar had said mobile internet had been suspended in some districts for a temporary period and will be restored once the law and order situation returns to normal.;;;;;

Haryana : Internet Services Resume

Haryana’s Home Secretary Rajeev Arora said internet services were snapped to “stop the spread of disinformation and rumours through various social media platforms, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter” for mobilisation of antisocial elements who can disturb peace, cause loss of life and damage to property.

The order will remain in effect till 5 pm of January 27, he said.

The Haryana government on Sunday further extended the suspension of mobile internet services in 14 districts till 5 p.m on February 1 to “prevent any disturbance of peace and public order” amid a protest by farmers against three farm laws.

According to an official statement issued here, the government has extended the suspension of mobile internet services in districts of Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Charkhi Dadri, Sonipat and Jhajjar till 5 pm on February 1.

In the fresh order issued by the Home Department, the suspension has not been extended in Yamunanagar, Palwal and Rewari districts, where the mobile internet services were suspended earlier.

“The Haryana government has extended the suspension of mobile internet services , SMS services and all dongle services, etc. provided on mobile networks except the voice calls in the territorial jurisdiction of the 14 districts,” the statement said.

“This order has been issued to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order in the jurisdiction of these districts of Haryana. Any person who will be found guilty of violation of aforesaid order will be liable for legal action under relevant provisions,” it added.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the decision was taken in the wake of the situation which had built up following incidents of violence in the national capital on January 26.

The spokesperson said the suspension in these 14 districts will be imposed till 5 p.m. on 30 January, while the suspensions of mobile internet services Sonipat, Palwal and Jhajjar has been extended for next 24 hours till 5 p.m. on 30 January.

The Manohar Lal Khattar government on Friday shut down Internet services in 14 districts of Haryana till 5p.m.

on 30 January, taking the number of districts with Internet shut down to 17.

The Haryana governments order said the Internet services shutdown would be implemented with immediate effect.

These 14 districts include Ambala, Yamuna Nagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Rewari and Sirsa. Earlier, after the Centre shut down internet in Singhu, Ghazipur, Tikri, Mukarba Chowk and Nangloi and adjoining areas in the National Capital Territory of Delhi following violent farmers protests rocked the national Capital, the Haryana government had on Tuesday followed suit suspending mobile internet services, SMS and dongle services provided on mobile networks in Sonepat, Jhajjar and Palwal districts till 5 p.m. on Friday.

The spokesperson said the suspension in these 14 districts will be imposed till 5 p.m. on 30 January, while the suspensions of mobile internet services Sonipat, Palwal and Jhajjar has been extended for next 24 hours till 5 p.m. on 30 January.

Software Freedom Law Center and Internet Freedom Foundation condemned the internet suspension and urged them to reconsider their decision and restore connectivity. Karnal: Suspension of internet services has turned out to be a major problem for the locals in Karnal as the ongoing farmers protest at mini secretariat has entered into the third day on Thursday.

The local residents and businesses owners are facing problems in digital transactions which are affecting their daily businesses.

The internet services were suspended in the five adjoining districts of Kurukshetra, Jind, Kaithal, Panipat and Karnal. However, the services have been restored in the four districts except Karnal. The agitating farmers have appealed to the local administration to resume the internet service in the area.

Talking to IANS, Farmers Union leader Gurunam Singh Chaduni said, “Shutting down Internet service is an attack on our right of expression. Every one has the right to speak and express. But, the administration is infringing on our rights”.

“We put our views on social media but they have put a curb on this and we are unable to reach out to the lakhs of sympathisers of farmers. We appeal to the local administration to resume the internet services at the earliest”, said the farmer leader.

Lakhvinder who works outside the mini secretariat as typist said that our business has been paralyzed without having internet access. He added that the locals are not coming outside due to the agitaion.

Taxi driver Jagjinder Singh said that we are not getting any customers in absence of internet service as they do only the online booking.

Farmers’ Protest: Haryana Govt Extends Ban On Mobile Internet And Sms Services In Karnal

Chandigarh, Sep 9: With protesting farmers continuing their sit-in “indefinitely” at the district headquarters in Karnal, the Haryana government has extended the suspension of mobile Internet services in the district till Thursday midnight, an order issued by the state Home Department said.

“Mobile Internet services in Karnal district will remain suspended from 07:00 hours till 23:59 hours of September 9,” said the order issued on Thursday. Another round of talks between district officials and farmers protesting over a police lathi-charge in Karnal last month had failed on Wednesday after which the protesters said they will continue their sit-in “indefinitely” at the district headquarters.

Earlier, mobile Internet services in Karnal were suspended from 12:30 pm on September 6 till 11:59 pm on September 7 and the suspension was extended till Wednesday midnight as the situation was considered “still volatile”.

Now, the fresh order mentions that the situation has been reviewed “and observed to be still tense…” “Whereas, it has been brought to my notice vide..dated September 9 by ADGP , Haryana that the situation has been reviewed and observed to be still tense and would trigger any time which may adversely affect public safety and law and order situation in district Karnal…,” said the order referring to the protesters’ call to continue the sit-in “indefinitely”.

Chandigarh | Jagran News Desk: The Haryana government on Friday suspended internet services, except voice calls, in 14 more districts till January 30 in wake of the farmers’ protest. With this, the total number of districts where the internet has been suspended till Saturday reached 17.

The 14 districts where the internet has been suspended are Ambala, Yamuna Nagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Rewari and Sirsa.;The Haryana government had earlier suspended internet services in Palwal, Jhajjar and Sonipat on Tuesday.

In its order, the state government said that internet services have been in 17 Haryana districts in wake of “provicative misinformation and fake news” over farmers’ agitation against the farm laws.

“Whereas it has been brought to my notice by ADGP, CID, Haryanathat provocative misinformation and fake news on social media regarding ongoing farmers’ agitation has been rampant across in various districts of Haryana and there is a likelihood of disturbance of law and order, public peace and tranquility in some districts of the state by protesters, agitators, miscreants and anti-social elements,” the Haryana government order read, as reported by news agency PTI.

The suspension of mobile internet and SMS services in Haryana’s Karnal district has been extended till September 8 midnight, stated an order issued by the state Department of Home Affairs.

The services were earlier suspended between;2:30 pm on September 6;and September 7 midnight to “stop the spread of misinformation and rumours”;ahead of;the;gherao planned by protesting farmers at the mini-secretariat.

The suspension of SMS and internet services has been extended as the situation is “observed to be still volatile and further intensification of protest is expected which may adversely affect the public safety and law and order situation in district Karnal in wake of call for Kisan Mahapanchayat,” the department said in its latest order.

“In order to stop the spread of misinformation and rumours through various social media platforms, such as WhatsApp, Facebook Twitter, etc. on mobile phones and SMS, for facilitation and mobilisation of mobs of agitators”, the services in Karnal district will remain suspended from 00:00 hours to; 23:59 hours on September 8, the order said.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha , an umbrella body of farmer outfits protesting against the Centre’s three farm reform laws, had threatened to lay siege to the Karnal mini-secretariat on;September 8 if its demands were not met.
