  • Disney Plus Prices Go Up $3 In December Here’s How To Cancel Your Subscription

How to Remove Titles from Continue Watching on Disney Plus

Canceling can be a bit tricky if you can’t remember how you signed up for the Disney streaming service.

    Katie Teague

Katie is a Writer at CNET, covering all things how-to. When she’s not writing, she enjoys playing in golf scrambles, practicing yoga and spending time on the lake.

In December, Disney Plus is raising its prices by $3 and adding a new ad-supported tier. That means the new price will be $11 for those who want commercial-free viewing, or $8 for those who don’t mind watching ads. If you’d rather not pay more to keep the same plan you’ve got now, you can cancel your subscription. However, the steps you need to take to end your service depends on how you signed up in the first place.

For most, you’ll need to sign in to your Disney Plus account in a web browser to manage and cancel your subscription, but things are slightly different if you signed up using the phone app.

When you cancel your subscription, you’ll still be able to watch Disney Plus movies and shows until the end of the billing cycle. Here’s what you need to do.

    Check Disney Plus Servers

Disney Plus is an online service, and it relies on its servers to deliver content and features to the users. However, if their servers encounter a problem, the application may run into errors and not function correctly.

To check if Disney Plus servers are down, you can use third-party tools like Downdetector, where you can see the status of Disney Plus and the past issues it encountered.

If the servers are down, we suggest that you just wait for Disney Plus to fix the issue. On the other hand, proceed to the following method below if there are no problems with the servers.

Days After Its Launch Disney+ Users Are Ready To Cancel Their Subscription To Its Streaming Service Over The Absence Of Key Features And A Relatively Small Content Library

Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+, arrived just a few days ago but users already want their money back. The video-on-demand service was off to a flying start, registering more than 10 million subscribers within 24 hours of its launch on Tuesday.

However, some users already want to cancel their subscription to the service that gives subscribers access to a variety of movies and TV shows from Disney-owned heavyweights like Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, as well as Disney+ original content.

    Missing features

Google Search Trends for the terms “Cancel Disney Plus” and “Cancel Netflix” over the last seven days revealed a frenzy of searches made by users to cancel their Disney+ subscription. Some Reddit users have also started a thread titled, “How Do You Cancel Disney+?” on the website while others have taken to Twitter to express their anger over missing features on the streaming platform.

“How is is there not a feature to track your watching progress for seasons and movies?” wrote one user. “Not even a resume option to pick up where you left off. I can’t tell what episodes have been watched or not. Better get to work.” Check out some of the tweets below:

    Not enough content?

He added that app is working just fine despite experiencing teething problems in the form of some technical glitches at launch. While Disney gives users access to a lot of high-profile franchises, it does not size up to the endless library of content that is available on Netflix.

Check If Your Device Is Supported

Another reason why Disney Plus cant recognize your subscription is if your current device is not supported. While the platform is available on multiple operating systems, not all devices running these OS are compatible with the app.

Visit the Help Center and confirm if your system is included in the list of compatible devices. If not, consider getting a compatible device, or you can opt to access the platform through their website.

Quick Tips To Fix Disney Plus Not Recognizing Subscription Issue

It gave me the “Welcome, seems like you’re not subscribed screen.” So I renewed the subscription thinking it would work but when I logged back in it gave me the same screen. It never has done this before especially when the clone wars and mandalorian season 1 was still releasing episodes.

Disney Plus does have an explaination for “Welcome, looks like you’re not subscribed” error message on its Help Centre. It might be an issue of your account. Unfortunately, there are no definite solutions that will help you fix the subscription not working issue on Disney Plus. Still, you can try the tips below to see if it will troubleshoot the Disney+ subscription error.

Disney+ Just Got A New Feature That It Should Have Had At Launch

Disney+ launched almost two weeks ago, and the streaming service is already a massive success for the company, with more than 10 million people having already subscribed to it. Its not really surprising considering that the low price and huge catalog are two reasons why getting a Disney+ subscription is a no-brainer.

However, Disney+ isnt perfect, and the streaming issues that Disney had to deal with at launch is proof of that. Not to mention that the app isnt on par with what competitors offer when it comes to functionality. Just a few days ago, we explained Disney+ lacked a basic feature to let you resume where you left off. Disney said that its already working on a fix, and it looks like some people are already seeing it on some platforms.

Moreover, an Add to Watchlist button is also present on the interface, which can definitely come in handy. The actual Continue Watching feature on the home page isnt available for the time being.

Even so, the new playback options might not be available on all platforms where you can access the Disney+ app. According to CordCuttersNews, Resume, Restart, and Add to Watchlist are all available on Roku devices, but not on the actual Disney+ website. If youre not seeing the new UI buttons on your Disney+ app, you just have to wait for Disney to update all its streaming apps, which should hopefully happen sooner rather than later.

How Do I Reactivate My Disneylife Subscription

The way that you reactivate your subscription depends on how you originally signed up and were being billed.

Please note: When you reactivate your DisneyLife subscription, whether you do it on the Google Play Store or Apple iTunes, you will be charged the current subscription price that same day for your first month back and you will not be able to redeem another free trial period.

If you reactivate your subscription within 13 months of cancelling, you can pick up where you left off, as your profiles, favourites and settings will still be there – enjoy!

  • Log in using the login method your subscription was previously associated with .
  • There will be a notification advising that your subscription is inactive and you will be prompted to re-subscribe.
  • If youre using an Android device, log into your Google Play account and if youre using an Apple device, log into your Apple ID.
  • Confirm the subscription details.
