Covenant University, one Nigerias most prestigious private universities has recalled students who were forced to go home following the covid19 lockdown.

Oblivious of the impending lockdown from the covid19 pandemic, the students were sent home for Shiloh immediately after a rushed 1st semester.
They were forced to stay away for weeks while other schools had barely 1 month to the end of the 2nd semester. With the lockdown, their stay away from school is not at least 2 months longer than other schools.
It was therefore Cheering news when the authorities invited them back.
Sadly, on resumption, administrative lapses kept the young men and women out of their hostels, in the rain and heavy floods and at the risk of contracting the highly contagious deadly corona virus disease.
The schools management did little to alleviate the suffering of the students as most of them slept in the rain till the next morning with no concrete plans of improved conditions.

To make matters worse, hostel arrangements are not planned in any way as students are expected to be lodged in crowded rooms with very little ventilation and no window mosquito nets.

This is to inform both fresh and stale undergraduates of Covenant University that the management of the institution has released the resumption dates for the 2017/2018 academic session.

Covenant University Resumption Dates
As a follow up to last weeks message, we have received a positive response from the State Government and as such, we are now set for resumption in the following order:
All Final Year students Monday 28 September
Non-Graduating 400 Level Tuesday 29 September
All 300 Level Students Wednesday 30 September
All 200 Level Students Thursday 1 October
All 100 Level Students Friday 2 October
Please note that SIWES Students:
- Non-Graduating 400 Level
Are not resuming
Students are to check their portal for details of their financial clearance and room allocation.
Further information/instructions will be duly communicated. Every student is expected to resume according to the assigned date.

Covenant University Gives Update On Resumption Amid Covid
Covenant University has moved its resumption till January 18, 2021.
This was confirmed in a circular on Thursday.
The management of the university explained that this was in a bid to control the spread of COVID-19.
It, however, noted that virtual classes would commence on January 11, 2021.
Part of the circular read, Please note that as a result of the Federal Governments directive in order to control the spread of the second wave of COVID-19, all schools including tertiary institutions are to remain closed until 18 January 2021.
The Board of Regents has, therefore, approved the postponement of resumption for all returning students. However, Virtual Lectures through our LMS will commence as initially scheduled on January 11, 2021.
Please ensure your child completes the registration procedures. Also, endeavour to pay all necessary fees as this will be a condition for access to lecture modules. Please check your child/ward portal for details.

The COVENANT UNIVERSITY Post UTME cut off mark is the minimum score in the post UTME screening expected by any candidate who had the COVENANT UNIVERSITY JAMB cut off mark as participated in the COVENANT UNIVERSITY Post UTME Screening.;Npower Recruitment

All schools including tertiary institutions are to remain closed until in line with the directive of the Federal Government to curtail the spread of the second wave of the COVID 19 pandemic.
As a consequence of the above, the initial resumption dates of Covenant University which is 3/10 January 2021 have been put on hold. Virtual lectures through the university LMS will however commence as scheduled initially on . Parents are to please make sure that the registration process is completed by their children. Fees should also be paid as there will be a condition for access to lecture modules.

Covenant University Announces Resumption Dates Students To Undergo Covid
In a memo to parents by the Resumption Committee 2019/2020, the university said its decision to reopen followed a positive response from the Ogun State Government.
According to the memo, all final year students are expected to resume on Monday, September 28, non-graduating 400 Level ; Tuesday, September 29; all 300 Level students, Wednesday 30 September; all 200 Level Students, Thursday 1 October; and all 100 Level Students, Friday 2 October.
Please note that SIWES Students:; Non-Graduating 400 Level ; Non-Graduating 300L Level are not resuming. Students are to check their portal for details of their financial clearance and room allocation, it said.
The university further said that information/instructions will be duly communicated, adding that every student is expected to resume according to the assigned date.
However, contrary to the Federal Government instruction to university management not to conduct COVID-19 test for students, the university said every student will only be allowed back to school ONLY after certification of fitness to resume which include a conduct of COVID-19 test. The students are expected to pay N10, 000 for the COVID-19 test to be conducted by the university.
To get this certification, each student will undergo COVID-19 and Medical Screening.
It added that screening will include temperature check; travel history checks; COVID- 19 screening ; and disinfection of students bags and other materials.
