Republic Of The Congo
The Republic of the Congo, located in Central Africa between Gabon the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is allowing U.S. travelers to visit. According to the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of the Congo, all arriving passengers must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test , undergo a health screening upon arrival and self-quarantine for two weeks at their residence or hotel. The country has been experiencing record high cases since June 2021 and there is an 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew Monday through Friday in Brazzaville and Pointe Noir.
As of Jan. 26, 2021, everyone age two and older traveling to the U.S. from the Republic of the Congo must show a negative viral COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of departure before being allowed to board their flights documented proof from a licensed healthcare provider of recovery from the virus within the past 90 days will also be accepted.
The U.S. State Departments advisory for the Republic of the Congo is Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution and the CDCs advisory is Level 1: Low Level of COVID-19.
Setback For Cruise Holidays
Norwegian cruise operator Hurtigruten has stopped all cruises on August 3 until further notice after an outbreak of the coronavirus on one of its ships. At least 40 passengers and crew members on the Roald Amundsen tested positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, German cruise line Aida Cruises has also postponed its planned restart due to the lack of necessary permits.
Validity Of The Certificates
The Commission has proposed, and Member States have adopted, an update to the Council recommendation on free movement restrictions. It includes specific provisions although Member States can be less strict as well:
- Fully vaccinated persons holding an EU Digital COVID Certificate should be exempt from travel-related testing or quarantine 14 days after having received the last dose. This should also cover recovered persons having received a single dose of a 2-dose vaccine.
- Recovered persons, holding an EU Digital COVID Certificate should be exempt from travel-related testing or quarantine during the first 180 days after a positive PCR test.
- Persons with an EU Digital COVID test certificate should be exempt from possible quarantine requirements: 72 hours for PCR tests and, where accepted by a Member State, 48 hours for rapid antigen tests.

What Is The Current Situation
CDC has temporarily extended the CSO through January 15, 2022, with minor modifications. The CSO, as modified, applies to foreign-flagged cruise ships operating or seeking to operate in U.S. waters. U.S.-flagged cruise ships previously covered by the CSO may continue to participate voluntarily. Passenger operations have now resumed on cruise ships. As modified, the CSO aligns with current public health considerations and other factors onboard cruise ships. Information about the COVID-19 status of ships sailing under the CSO is available on CDC’s website.
As of July 23, 2021, the CSO and accompanying measures, such as technical instructions, are nonbinding recommendations for cruise ships arriving in, located within, or departing from a port in Florida. CDC is continuing to operate the CSO as a voluntary program for such ships that choose to follow the CSO measures voluntarily.
New Testing Facilities For International Arrivals
Japan has set out to build new coronavirus testing centres at its three major international airports, Haneda, Narita and Kansai Airport. In addition to central parts of the cities, as the country sets out to relax travel restrictions.
The new facilities are aimed at increasing the amount of polymerase chain reaction , to over 4,000 per day, and the testing times to a few hours. Currently, authorities are able to administer 1,000 daily PCR tests, with results confirmed in around one or two days.
Those who test negative upon arrival will be issued certificate, and be allowed to travel without further quarantine.

Will Only Vaccinated Tourists Be Allowed In When Eu Travel Ban Ends
The EU’s relaxed travel restrictions apply to vaccinated tourists from the U.S. and around the globe who have received EU authorized vaccines.
Travelers who aren’t vaccinated can visit only for vacation and other nonessential reasons if they come from countries with low COVID-19 rates, a policy in place since last summer.
Currently, the EU considers only eight countries to be in a “good epidemiological situation’: Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Singapore, South Korea, Rwanda, Thailand and, subject to a reciprocity agreement, China.
Travelers from those countries are free to travel to the EU regardless of vaccination status, but may be subject to coronavirus testing requirements, quarantine and other rules.
The good news is that the list is expected to grow soon, given new criteria on COVID-19 case rates that was also approved by EU officials Wednesday.
It is unclear whether the U.S. will make the cut on that front, at least initially. But when and if the U.S. makes the list, American travelers will be able to enter the EU regardless of vaccination status.

What I Look For In An Applicant
From time to time, Im involved in the hiring process for web developersat my company. Our immediate team comprises people from five countries and ahuge range of educational and professional backgrounds. Here are the somethings that I look for from all applicants on their CVs:
- Well-proofread, grammatically correct CV in English. Since English isthe business language of the company, being comfortable working in Englishis critical. Plus, an error-ridden CV is a sure sign of sloppiness.
- Genuine expression of intent from the candidate. Hiring internationalapplicants can take a long time, especially if theyre not from the EU,and even more especially if theyre from a tricker country like Russia orEgypt. Theres no use expending the extra effort if the applicant isntgoing to commit.
- What is their current living situation, and what will it take to get themhere. Do they have a work permit? Are they in Europe? When can theyrelocate?
These things tell me that an applicant is serious off the bat, and worththe time to evaluate their skills and work history. Communicating that youare not only qualified for the job but prepared to start in a reasonabletime frame is very appealing!

People from EU countries where the COVID-19 infection rate is below 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over a 14-day period will be allowed back into the country, even for “non-essential” purposes. Greece
Empty perfect beaches: Greece is not expecting tourists again until the summer
Since May 3, cafés, bars and taverns in Greece have been allowed to open their outdoor areas for all guests, whether vaccinated or not. However, they have to close at 10:45 p.m., and an evening curfew then applies from 11 p.m. onwards.
Greece has been open again for vacationers from EU countries as well as from some other states such as Great Britain and Serbia since May 14. People are allowed to enter the country and go on vacation without having to undergo quarantine. Visitors must register online before entering the country.
Upon entry, a proof of a full vaccination or a negative PCR test no more than 72 hours old must be presented. Fully vaccinated means here that the second vaccination was at least 14 days ago. There is no longer a quarantine requirement. However, tourists should always inform themselves about their exact travel destination. For example, a local lockdown was recently imposed again on the island of Kalimnos due to high case numbers.

Ireland is begining to ease its strict Covid-19 lockdown
Anyone entering Ireland must present a negative PCR test no more than 72 hours old. In addition, all entrants, including Irish citizens and residents, are required to severely restrict their movements for 14 days after entry.

Eduardo Santander, executive director for the European Travel Commission, the umbrella organization for tourism agencies across the continent, is also optimistic, but said important questions remain.
“We think this is a great start, but we still have to read the small print,” he said, urging would-be voyagers to do the same. “It’s probably a couple of weeks until there is certainty about all the little things a traveler has to take into account before coming to Europe, and in particular, the issue of mobility within the European Union” if governments don’t coordinate border regulations.
Santander warns that a lack of reciprocity for European travelers wishing to go to the U.S. could eventually be a problem for Americans as well, because airlines will need people going both directions to resume their flight routes. But he believes by mid-July things will be going smoothly, and that this year, high season for tourism could last well into the fall to meet pent-up demand.
Tourists Allowed Back Into Sri Lanka
Ten months after the border closure, international tourists can travel to Sri Lanka again. As confirmed by officials on Monday , travelers will be able to re-enter the island from Jan. 21 if they comply with strict security regulations, present a negative PCR test and stay in a quarantine hotel for 14 days.

Can International Visitors Travel Into The Uk On Holiday
Yes, travellers from most countries arriving at UK ports from non-red list destinations don’t have to quarantine as long as they received their second dose of an approved vaccination at least 14 days before travelling. Fully vaccinated arrivals still need to take a test on or before day two of their arrival however, although as of Sunday 24 October this can now be a cheaper lateral flow test. All travellers coming into the UK have to fill in a passenger locator form in the 48 hours before arrival. If arrivals have not had their second vaccine, they must get PCR tests on or before day two and on or after day eight, and to isolate for 10 days .
Previously, mostly vaccines given in the EU were recognised. However, transport secretary Grant Shapps recently announced that as of Monday 11 October the government now recognises vaccines given in 37 additional countries. Therefore, those who have had two shots of a vaccine from the following countries are now allowed entry to the UK:
- Akrotiri and Dhekelia
- Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno Islands
- Poland
- South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands
- South Korea
- St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha
- St Kitts and Nevis
- St Vincent and the Grenadines
- Sweden

Australia And The Uk Reopen To Each Other
Australia extended its travel ban for another three months until 17 December so that the government can reach its target of getting 80% of eligible people vaccinated before dropping inbound and outbound travel restrictionsthe U.K. is sending 4 million vaccine doses to Australia to help them meet objectives. Currently, as reported by The Telegraph, over 12.3 million people in Australia have had one dose of a vaccine, while 35% have had two.
Despite this delay, the airline Qantas said that it is ramping up operations to restart major routes before Christmas. It hopes that flights between Australia and the U.K. can start from mid-December, as well as routes to Fiji, Singapore, the U.S., Canada and Japan. Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said that some people might say were being too optimistic, but based on the pace of the vaccine rollout, this is within reach and we want to make sure were ready.

What Are The Covid Test And Quarantine Rules At The Moment
On Tuesday 23 November the government updated advice to suggest people in England take a rapid lateral flow test before going to high-risk settings. This suggests people should test themselves before going to crowded and enclosed spaces or visiting people at higher risk of severe illness from Covid-19.
