Is It Door To Door Or Door
The phrases door to door and door-to-door are both considered to be correct and are used in near equal measure.
Either way is acceptable to be used on a resume, but make sure you only use one of the two.
Do not write door to door in one sentence, and switch to door-to-door in another.
Formatting needs to remain consistent in the resume, otherwise, it looks like an oversight on your part.;
Bring Clarity To The Direction Of Your Resume Being Concise Is Important
A common mistake when it comes to resume writing is to try to include everything you have ever done. But including every responsibility, every technology, your full education history, and all skills and abilities you can claim will quickly turn your resume into an unreadable, overwhelming document.
If you can answer yes to any of these questions, your resume needs some revamping:
1.) Is there a lot of redundant information?2.) Is the resume more than the standard two to three pages?3.) Could the career summary be copied and pasted into someone elses resume without many changes? 4.) Are you listing skills rather than focusing on results?5.) Are there relevant experiences or skills that are not conveyed on page one?
The best approach to a high-impact resume to help you move up the career ladder is to keep it laser-focused on the most relevant skills, experience, and qualifications that will show your ability to succeed in a higher-level position than you currently hold.
For example, Janet Gaines was a recent client of Great Resumes Fast who wanted to move from her position as a Registered Nurse to a home health services manager. While her nursing experience and strong knowledge base of patient care and healthcare in general were obviously important, the management position also called for a leadership and budget management skill set that she did not have the opportunity to gain through her prior nursing jobs.
How To Put Door
In the world of sales, being a door-to-door salesperson is a job that even the most experienced professionals have had at least once in their careers.
It takes a wealth of dedication, motivation, and social skills to be able to succeed in this position.
The skills gained from door-to-door sales transfer to other positions extremely well, so how can you reflect this on a resume.

What Is The Best Job Title For Door
There are many different ways that you can write the job title for door-to-door work. Here are a few to consider:
- Door-to-door salesperson
- Door-to-door sales representative
- Door-to-door sales rep
Typically, an abbreviation such as rep should be avoided when possible to avoid making a resume seem unprofessional.
Rep is used as a common term in the industry, however, so you may use it if you find representative taking up too much space.
Salesman and saleswoman are slightly outdated terms and are not commonly seen on resumes these days.;
Job Search Prep Informational Interviews Help Bring Clarity
If you know you are looking for career advancement, but arent sure about your target job, or if you are waffling between a few potential career advancement paths, sitting down for an informational interview with someone currently in one of your target jobs is a wonderful way to learn more about the day-to-day responsibilities and overall fit of a role. Questions to ask in an informational interview:
Tell me about your career path. How did you get into and excel in this line of work? What would you say are the most key qualifications for someone in your position? If Youve Been With The Company For 15+ Years: Separate Experience Section
If you have professional experience that dates back more than 15 years, create a separate section labeled Prior Professional Experience to list positions at the same company.
This method allows you to demonstrate your career progression while still keeping your resume super concise. With a separate experience section, you can focus your attention on the most recent years of employment.
How to set it up: Create a separate section, listing your job titles and the appropriate dates, without the detailed list of accomplishments. You can put this section beneath any recent positions at the same company.
If you have particularly notable achievements from this time period, consider highlighting them in a separate achievements section.
ATS Tip: Lever ATS did not differentiate between the Experience and Prior Professional Experience sections. However, it did place jobs in order of date. This method works fine for ATS and it is worth using since hiring managers may still look at the un-parsed resume.
Note: the Prior Professional Experience section in this example was formatted as a stacked entry.

Option : Stacking The Two
Stacking the positions into one description is the most common resume format for organizing more than one position at a single company. This method is used to draw attention to lateral moves or progressive responsibilities, achievements, and dedication to the company. There are a few simple rules to this resume format:
-
Include the overall date range at the top
-
List dates for each position next to the job title
-
Place job descriptions and bulleted key achievements directly below each position.
The sample resume format looks like this:
COMPANY NAME, City, State Company Start Date to Company End Date
Position #2 Date to Date
Job Description
Position #1 Date to Date
Job Description
-
Key Achievement 2
-
Key Achievement 3
Place the most recent position at the top, and start each description with Promoted within from store manager to __ and describe your new position. Use action verbs to show your accomplishments, not just your job duties. Also be sure to include bullet points of achievements, which reflect your contributions.
Here is an example of a description using action verbs and “achieving” language:
Incorrect: Responsible for managing operations at 50 stores in the state.
Correct: Coordinated team leadership for 50 stores statewide.

Prepare For The Job Search
Approach a job search and a resume for a promotion in the same way as a job with a different organization, BusinessBalls recommends. Do not assume that, because you are applying for an internal promotion, the person reading your resume will be familiar with your work. A resume for a promotion within the same company template can be the same as a resume template for external positions. Keep in mind that a resume can be a powerful marketing tool for you.

Key takeaways:
In your letter, include the ways your current position makes you well-suited to the new job. Offer specific ways youve made an impact and why youre uniquely qualified to take on the responsibilities required. Find a trusted referral from within the organizationto endorse you for the role or promotion.
Option #: List Your Entries Individually
If the jobs youve had at your company were pretty different for example, if you moved from assistant editor to web developer list the company once, but separate the job titles and treat them like two different positions .
Using this method draws attention to your achievement history and time frame in both positions. It would look like this:
Remember to use the bullet points to describe your biggest accomplishments and experience that relate to the job youre applying for.
If the new role was a step up, be sure to explain that clearly but even lateral moves show employers that youre adaptable and have a wide range of strengths and skills.
Either way, the hiring manager will be able to notice that youve had different jobs within the same company, and ideally theyll be tickled pink with delight to see that youre a dedicated and loyal employee.
As a bonus, this format works really well for ATS, because each job title is clearly labeled and has its own subsection explaining your experiences.

As always, you want to keep your resume brief…but you also want to show off. Bullet points are best for organizing, and youll want to give the bulk of space to your achievements. A general rule of thumb: use two to three bullet points to describe your responsibilities, then three to five to list your concrete accomplishments.
If youre still new to the position and dont have a huge number of notable deeds, you might want to go with an alternate layout. Consider using bullet points to outline your duties, then cap it off with a small section on key achievements.
The Action-Benefit format is perfect if youre in this position and makes the updating process simple and formulaic.

Approach : Stack The Job Titles
This strategy is good if you would like to emphasize your highest-level position and show promotions within the organization. Include the overall date range for your employer next to the company name and location, followed by a list of positions in reverse chronological order . For example:
COMPANY NAME – City, State, 2/01 to present
- Store Manager, 8/03 to present
- Assistant Manager, 5/02 to 8/03
- Clerk, 2/01 to 5/02
To emphasize your promotional advancement, lead your position description with something like: Promoted to store manager to… and then describe the challenges and responsibilities that you assumed with your promotion. Be sure to include a bulleted list of achievements, which can reflect your contributions from any of your positions.
On your Monster resume, you can keep one employment listing by including your highest position in the Formal Title field, and then explaining that you held other positions in the Work Description section.
If you held numerous positions with one employer, the above list of job titles will start to take up valuable space on your resume. Summarize your early job titles using one line of text. For example:
COMPANY NAME – City, State, 2/01 to present
- Store Manager, 8/03 to present
- Assistant Manager, 5/02 to 8/03
- Early Positions: Student Intern, Clerk and Retail Sales Rep, 2/01 to 5/02

How To Put A Promotion On A Resume: Writing Models And Examples
Career progression is a perfect reason to update your resume. The main challenge is to add a new paragraph and preserve the logic, clarity, and readability of the document. To handle it, review the following four templates used to reflect the promotion on the resume and choose the one that matches your professional background.
What To Include For A Door
Responsibilities of a door-to-door salesperson written on a resume should always have a relevant reason for being included. Include skills that are transferrable to higher positions, such as people skills, marketing, communication, presentations, etc.;
A few responsibilities which may be included on a resume are:
- Meeting clients in their homes
- Building a presentation using company marketing materials such as catalogues
- Accepting various types of payment including cash, check, electronic, etc.
- Strategically convincing customers to purchase
- Following up with customers, and maintaining call or e-mail lists
Much like educational achievements such as Deans List or CALI awards, you should also list any types of achievements from a job as bullet points in the experience section.
Achievements are great ways to show proficiency and they prove that you have gone above and beyond for a job, so do this whenever possible.
Achievements that may come from door-to-door sales may include the following:
- Employee of the month
- Top sales within a given period
- Great customer reviews
- Company recognition
These types of things not only show that you are experienced in the work, but also that you are exceptionally good at it! If you have earned any of these achievements, you deserve to brag a little.

Reweighting Experience Emphasize The Important Details
When it comes to the Professional Experience section of a resume geared towards career advancement, it can often help to reweight the responsibilities and overall positioning. By this I simply mean emphasizing the most appropriate aspects of your current and past roles. For example, Richard Wildes leadership roles were somewhat limited, so highlighting his abilities as a change manager, coach, and trainer helped to preemptively overcome any concerns a reader might have.
Another great example is Creighton James, a healthcare operations executive targeting COO positions. He knew that his background was somewhat light on operational outcomes, since his background was largely in the area of patient safety. He spent seven out of nine years at XYZ Hospital as a patient safety officer / safety officer. While certainly relevant to his current COO objective, it made sense to omit many of his patient safety achievements to better emphasize the other work he did such as reducing labor costs and capturing profit gains. His original resume had 11 bullets for this hospital dedicated to patient safety duties. As a result, the other duties and achievements were completely lost in the lengthy entry.
As you can see, this entry excludes all but one bullet directly related to patient safety in order to better highlight the other accomplishments and package Creighton as well-rounded and well-prepared for the C-level.
