Customer Service Resume Examples And Writing Tips
Are you applying for a customer service position? If so, you’ll want to emphasize some of the soft skills commonly required for customer service employees, such as being an excellent communicator and having strong interpersonal skills.
Employers will also be looking for candidates who are punctual and responsible, because customer service workers often handle cash registers and replace other employees during shift changes.
Familiarize Yourself With Calling Processes
When working in a position that involves multi-line phone systems, you’ll probably be tasked with learning how to operate specific systems that are in place. This includes answering machines, placing people on hold and transferring callers to different lines. Familiarizing yourself with how these processes work can help you ease into a new role quick and seamlessly.
Interpreter Duties And Responsibilities
The summary of duties and responsibilities that you will put in the work experience section of your Interpreter resume will depend on the requirements of the job and the specific demands of the company you are applying to.
An Interpreter can function in different ways. For example, you can work in a foreign embassy, contact center, and even the United Nations. Similarly, companies that deal with foreign clients need an Interpreter to help facilitate meetings and to translate documents.
Likewise, there are companies that need interpreters to do primarily translation work. Law firms often hire interpreters to translate documents or to assist the attorneys when interviewing clients that cannot speak English.
Thus, your duties and responsibilities must be tailor-fit to the needs of the company.
First, review the job post carefully. The HR department of the company will always include the scope of work of the Interpreter. The scope of work is your anticipated summary of duties and responsibilities.
Second, assess your own work history. Have you handled these types of responsibilities before? At the very least, the tasks you managed before should be similar or relevant to the ones identified by the prospective employer.
Third, compose your summary of duties and responsibilities in a way that clearly shows you can handle the job.
For example, you came across this job post which interested you:

The best thing about a phone interview is that you can do it almost anywhere without traveling to your prospective employers office. There are still a few downsides though, the biggest being background noise or bad signal.
If youre taking the call at home, then it should be easier to find a quiet spot to do the interview. On the other hand, if youre receiving a call in your current workplace this can be somewhat trickier. If for any reason youre outside the home when the interview is due to happen, find somewhere quiet to sit and more important come prepared with a set of headphones. You dont want to miss any important info from the interviewer after all.
If the worst comes to the worst and you cant find somewhere suitable to chat or youve found yourself in an area with spotty cell coverage, dont worry. You can always reschedule until a more appropriate time.

That One Time At Resume
Suffocate me with a sock and call me Saul, if it wasnt for this app I would be totally screwed. On the go, without the laptop that has my resume or anyone that had access to it at the time, and with an important job on the line, this app saved my life. In the car, pulled over of course *winkity wink wink*, I was able to build, edit, and complete my complete profile/resume in around 25-30 minutes, and if the kids werent more annoying when I ask them to give me time to concentrate while they watched a movie in the back, DESPERATELY trying to get them sidetracked from the precious jewel they had their eyes on, which of course, anyone with kids or has kids around, knows that is my phone. Anyways, I was able to completely finish it and have it sent out within the hour, which was the time allotted from the company to get it done. So thank you very much. I will be recommending this app to all of my friends, family, clients, and anyone else who is so much as interested. You helped me more than a lot of people Im close to ever have, the least I can do is share your app. Thank you.

By Bob McIntosh
Consider this situation: youre hundreds of miles away from your computer, where your résumé is stored. A hiring manager from a desired company sends you a text that reads, Saw your LinkedIn profile and am impressed. Trying to fill an operations manager position. Like to see your resume today.
The only device you have is your phone. In a situation like this, wouldnt it be advantageous if your résumé is stored on your phone? But, alas, it isnt. Opportunity squandered.
This situation isnt hard to imagine. I present it to my Résumé Advanced workshop and ask them, Do you have your résumé on your phone? Im lucky if four out of 20 raise their hand. The others register on their face that Ah ha moment.
A circumstance like the one above prompted me to write a long post called, Is your résumé stored on your phone? My LinkedIn connection, Tiffany Appleton share it with her network, increasing the number of reactions of my original post to more than 5,000. Its still got legs.
Many people have written to say its something they never thought of, while others have said they have their résumé stored in various formats on their phone. A few said its bad practice to store a generic résumé on your phone after all, a résumé should be tailored to each particular job, right?
How Many Pages Should A Resume Be
The short answer is that one page is the ideal resume length for most candidates. However, if you have a lot of relevant work experience, it can be two or even three pages.
Just note that unless youre applying for an upper-management position or an academic post, one page will be enough for hiring managers. Even Elon Musks resume could be tightened into one page.
If youre applying for an academic position, youll need to send a CV instead of a resume. Keep in mind that CV templates are often several pages long, and contain more information to show the progression of your academic career.
