Executives should focus on intellectual humility and emotional intelligence when creating their resume to avoid looking narcissistic and desperate.
How do you write and format a resume that shows intellectual humility and emotional intelligence? Well, first take out all of the subjective text and superlatives and only include facts. Recruiters and hiring managers just want to know the numbers. What were the results? Quantify your work experience and accomplishments. You don’t need to hype it up, which leads us to what they call empty space or white space.
You should see a shockingly large amount of white space on your executive resume. It’s going to feel weird, but it’s intentional. Simplification helps the reader focus their eyes on the most important stuff. This means you should also simplify your formatting.
On your executive resume, use an 11 pt., clean-line font like Arial or Calibri, not a script font like Times New Roman. Also, make sure you have one-inch margins to further ensure that white space effect, and no bold, italics, or underlining except in very specific places because what happens when something is bold, for example, is that the eye goes there. Knowing how to bold something strategically on your resume is key because studies show recruiters and headhunters spend an average of six seconds skimming your resume. If they do not see in those first six seconds the most important things they were told to assess you on, they won’t take a deeper look.
What Skills Can You Include When Listing Nannying Experience On A Resume
When listing nannying experience in the experience section, there are many different skills you can highlight. Typical tasks include childcare, cooking, cleaning, and task management, however being a nanny means you might complete several more tasks than can fit in one section.;
Choose the tasks which are most relevant to your desired job, as you want to tailor each experience to fit each new employers needs. Lets look at a list of some skills which might come from a nannying job:
Many of these skills are self-taught skills!
Including these skills as a part of the experience in the experience section is a great way to make a nannying experience relevant, even if the desired job is outside of the childcare industry.;
If you have many other relevant jobs which you feel are a better representation of your skillset for a desired job, you may choose to leave the nannying job out of the experience section.
You may still wish to include certain skills gained from this job, however, so you may list this experience in the skills section.
What Is A Resume Work Experience Section
The work experience section of your resume should contain information about your professional history including previous titles, employers, dates of tenure, responsibilities, skills learned and accomplishments. Depending on your background, you can include full-time positions, part-time jobs, temporary roles, internships and even volunteer work if you do not have extensive paid work experience.

Where To Put Internships
Work Experience Section: Because internships provide important work experience, you should include your internships in the Work Experience or Work History section of your resume, along with other jobs you have held.
Internships Section: If you have held multiple internships, you can include a separate Internships section on your resume. Put this section towards the top of your resume. Put your Internships section above your Work History section if your internships are particularly relevant to the job you are applying for.
Whatever you do, dont put your internships at the bottom of your resume or in the Education section. Internships are real-world experiences, and should be given as much weight as a job.

You can use bold text like the example above to highlight key accomplishments on your resume. You can also use bullets, checkmarks, and other simple graphics to make sure your best work is noticed.

If You Dont Have A Lot Of Paid Work Experience
If youre a student or recent graduate, you can still include non-traditional work experience on your resume. Simply format any volunteer or student work the same way you would any other job and read up on how to list volunteer work on your resume.
If youre listing volunteer work or other unpaid projects, stick to the standard format and use bullet points to highlight your accomplishments like this.

Why You Should List Your Research Experience
If youre applying for a job that involves research, listing research experience is a no-brainer. Research-specific positions, scientific jobs like Research Assistants, Lab Assistants or Technicians, graduate school applications, and most jobs in academia all require evidence of research skills. Even outside these positions, research experience demonstrates valuable transferable skills, like critical thinking and attention to detail. Which is not to say that you need to include research experience on every resume if it makes you a stronger candidate, include it, but if it isnt relevant and doesnt add anything else to your candidacy, leave it off.

Create a personalized version of your resume that works best for each job and matches each job posting by studying the job description. How To Create A Killer Brand Positioning

Avoid making the mistake of simply listing tasks. You want to use this section to highlight your abilities and accomplishments. Use;resume action words;and focus on demonstrating that you helped the company solve its problems and achieve its goals; bonus points if you can do so with a dollar sign attached. These highlighted achievements will pop on the page if you separate them, using bullets, from the descriptions of your work responsibilities. Should You Include A Nanny Experience On A Resume
As nannying is usually a full-time job, it should be listed on a resume. It is just as much an experience as any other job would be, therefore it should be written out fully. If the experience is irrelevant to the desired job, do not include it if you have relevant jobs you can include instead.
Nannying should usually be included on a resume. This is especially true if it was a long-term job that would otherwise leave a gap in your employment experience. ;
You should not list a nannying experience that was very short-term, such as a one-month job. An employer may wonder why you were only able to stay in the position for such a short amount of time.
They may also assume it was a bad parting, thus causing them to question any of your listed skills in that area.;
Only include a nannying experience if it was at least a few months long, or in the case of a summer position, mention the job duration in the description.;
If you are seeking a job that consists of childcare in some way, such as in the childcare or education industries, then this should absolutely be included on your resume.
If your nannying experience may help you succeed in a new job in any way, perhaps if youre looking to do some volunteering to tutor kids, then its even better.;

It’s important to list your most relevant projects on your resume to communicate your experience and skills, but also to highlight hands-on examples of how you applied your capabilities to find a solution.

Always Quantify And Put A Full Stop After Your Bullet Points
Whenever applicable, put a number to quantify your bullets. So, instead of saying, Grew the company significantly, say Grew the companys revenue by 45%. Some of the things you can think about when you want to quantify your bullets are the scale of a task, achievement, etc., frequency, or range.
Regarding full stops, be sure to use them at the end of every bullet point. Do this since your bullets are complete sentences on their own.
Omitting Jobs From Your Resume
There may be a variety of circumstances that may lead you to wanting to omit certain jobs from your resume.
For instance, if you were fired from your previous position, you may feel inclined to try and hide this information out of fear of it leaving a bad impression on hiring managers.
However, even jobs you were fired from should be included if they are relevant working experience
Being fired from a previous job is not an automatic deal breaker in most cases, and including that position on your resume is oftentimes preferred over leaving unexplained gaps in your employment history.
Moreover, you do not have to explicitly state on your resume that you were fired.
Should this be a topic of concern, it will likely come up in a job interview at which point you can more clearly and directly explain what happened.
