Indeed works by compiling thousands of job postings into one easily searchable platform. Anyone can search for job postings or companies, create a free account and apply to open positions. You can even upload a resume to your Indeed profile and make it searchable so that potential employers can find you.
To begin, visit Indeed.com and create a free account. Youll just have to enter your email address and create a password to get started. While you dont have to create an account to search for and apply for jobs, I still recommend making one. Youll most likely be applying to more than one job, and having an account makes it easy to save your resume, keep track of where youve applied and communicate with potential employers.
From Indeeds homepage, you can begin searching for the type of job youre looking for. Indeed is a great place to search for and apply to jobs in addition to researching companies and salaries.
You can click the Company reviews tab on the top of the page to look for a specific company. You can search by company name, job title or location. Finally, you can click Find salaries to explore which careers have the highest job satisfaction, best salaries and more.
Indeed maintains a good relationship with companies and employers by making it easy to post and promote job listings. In fact, this is how Indeed makes its money. While jobs can be posted for free , sponsored listings rank higher in searches.
How To Create A New Resume On Indeed
You can also start from scratch and create a new resume directly on Indeed. Once you register , you can click Build Your Resume.
Have your contact information, work history, and education ready to enter. Indeed will ask you to fill these sections out first as a way to get started. If you dont want to fill these out first, you can skip these sections.
You can edit particular sections of your resume, and even add or remove sections. Indeed offers suggestions for other sections to add to your resume, including Skills, Awards, and more.

How To Apply For Jobs On Indeedcom
To apply to any job on Indeed.com, click on the job result on your search results page.
The detailed job posting will show a blue Apply on Company Site or an orange Apply Now button.
Apply On Company Site means that you will have to visit the companys website and apply from there.
Always remember to apply with a tailored resume and cover letter.
The Apply Now button means that you can apply to the job directly from the Indeed.com website with the Indeed resume that you have created.
However, even then, you should always apply with a fully customized resume specifically crafted for the job you are applying to by clicking on Apply with a different resume.
Attach the version of your resume that is tailored to this role, dont use your master Indeed.com resume.
You can also save the job to apply to later by clicking the heart icon next to apply links.

You need to decide if you want your resume displayed publicly or privately. Having your resume shown publicly presents the opportunity for employers to evaluate the experience you’ve earned during your career. Employers can save and download it if they want to keep it in their records, or they can email it to another member of their human resources department. The physical address that you provide can only be seen by you, whereas your phone number and email address can be viewed by the employer if you apply for a position.
